For anyone with a body, this probably comes as no

For anyone with a body, this probably comes as no surprise, but I’ve not always had a good relationship with mine. I was always taller and more mature looking than my peers- always too much of something, I thought. And then I had a baby, and for some reason, all those stretch marks, the swelling, spreading, drooping and softness did something to me; suddenly I was proud of my vessel and what complete sorcery it was capable of. I wish I’d appreciated it earlier.

I really love bodies, in all their incredible varieties, and the vast experiences they all hold. Those of you who have worked with me probably know I like detail, and oh my goodness! the details in skin, and ratio, scars, hair, folds, and the way light falls on all of the hollows where skin stretches over bones is.. well, gosh. A big reason tattooing is special to me. You know, it was either a life destined for serial stalking or art for me, and I guess we’re all blessed it wasn’t the former.

So anyway, I had @nudeworks_ cast my imperfect breasts in perpetuity, so I could hang them on the wall with nature’s other lovely imperfections (and hopefully, eventually, make further art from?)

“Why???” My mom asks. It’s a celebration, Mom, gahhhd 🤣
